The birthstone of June is the pearl. Pearls are unique as they are the only gems from living sea creatures and require no faceting or polishing to reveal their natural beauty. According to one etymology, June is named after Juno, the goddess of marriage and a married couple's household. So, some consider it good luck to be married in this month!
