Colors We Love: Grey

When you think of the color grey you might think drab, but we think fab! Grey is a hot color for this fall and, lucky for us, one of our favorite colors to feature in the collection. The best part is that you can pair it with anything - it can be a great neutral, or a stand-out piece. So remember, grey doesn't have to be gloomy, but rather can make you feel like you're walking on sunshine - hey, hey.

Stone Feature: Chalcedony

Chalcedony is found in almost every color including blue, green, and red. Native American Indians believed chalcedony was a sacred stone and used in the spiritual ceremonies of the tribe. Chalcedony derives its name derived from Chalcedon, a port on the Sea of Marmara. Amanda has sprinkled chalcedony all over her Fall 2012 collection, and we are glad that she did! The beautiful milky colors create striking pieces.

Peplums

A huge trend this year has been peplums. Luckily for us, it is carrying over into fall in amazing knits and leathers to branch into the cooler months. We've spotted some similar architecture in Amanda's Fall 2012 collection... the Shelby earrings are full of fabulous color schemes and the signature "bloom" of the peplum. Pair your peplum top with a fitted skirt, or some skinny jeans to show off it's signature silhouette - and don't forget the earrings!

Stone Feature: Peridot

Peridot is the gemstone of August, and is said to be a stone of lightness and beauty. Early miners looked for peridot at night because they believed that light from the moon made the crystals easier to find. After marking the locations of the crystals they came back in the daylight to dig them up. It is considered a tonic for the whole body and protects the wearer from negativity. It also is associated with stress reduction and relaxation. You lucky August babies!
